I've tried both .avi and .mkv files and the external subs are not showing on either of them.

After 2.8.8 none of my .srt subtitles are working and all of them worked before the upgrade to the latest release. I have tried a reinstall without any luck. iOS 11.2.5, iPhone 8.

Complain to Apple and Dolby. Next time, buy Android. That piece of --please stay polite-- OS? I don't think so. I'd rather do without VLC, especially now that there are excellent alternatives, than put up with that turd. Or your nazi "my way or the highway" attitude. It's a real shame tha...

@dontomaso: this is the expected behavior in this release.

That's too bad. I was hoping to get rid of the VLC alternatives I have been forced to keep using the last months.

2.4.1 is not yet available in the norwegian store, but I downloaded it through the purchased list. When I try to play this file http://i.imgur.com/9ruRQCd.jpg I get an error message saying that the codec is not supported: "VLC could not decode the format "a52" (A52 Audio (aka AC3)). M...

I've also had this problem since v.2. Have tried all audio output modes and a clean installation with deleted settings. No joy.
