An older system is still running WinXP SP3 with AGP video/Nvidia 97.xx drivers. On the advanced driver properties/additional Direct3D settings page is an option for "Max frames to render ahead". Is there a best setting for VLC, and if so, what is it? Adjusting it downward from its default ...
I've never been able to get smooth 1920x1080p video from any version of VLC. 1.xx is much better than any 2.xx I've tried, but there are still frequent drops/glitches I don't get in WMP, MPC or any other player. Wild shot here, try going into the input assignments and turn off volume control for the...
Maybe not the easiest or fastest frame to calculate, but MPC and most other players that have single-frame advance also have single-frame reverse, or at least last-I-frame reverse. Any chance of adding a counterpart to "e" in VLC? Please?
How does this option equate to other players, i.e. in their default modes are MPC, WMP etc "high quality" or not? ? Is there a way to know exactly how the option is defined?
It is possible to add the same index rebuild function that exists for AVI to h264? If not, anyone know of a reliable MP4 reindexing utility that runs on Windows?
Two separate (I think) issues with 2.0.5 Twoflower, although both exist with all 2.xx versions (but not any 1.xx versions): 1. Muting audio in one VLC window mutes all audio from all Windows sources, including all other VLC windows. System is XP SP3, CCCP default options with older Santa Cruz audio ...
Does the file load into avidemux, tsmuxer or other de/remuxer? If none of them report valid streams the file is probably a lost cause. If one of them can load it (if avidemux offers a B-mode when you open the file, use it) try recreating an index and resaving it.
Type 'reinstall windows 7 media center' into your favorite search engine and go to the first or second link. The process takes about two seconds and it won't touch your video files. If that doesn't work download/run GSpot or similar utility to see what splitter/decoder are supposed to be handling yo...
Can I please toss out a wild and completely uneducated guess.. This long-click feature on a USB bus is what's causing at least some of the performance issues on 2.x compared to 1.x.. In all versions of 2.x so far I have to turn the volume-control-via-mousewheel feature off to avoid stuttering and a ...
I think they're trying to tell you VLC doesn't change any setting that relates to your problem. Have you tried reinstalling W7MC? Also iirc, if you have cccp/ffdshow/ffdmpeg/etc installed and reset options to default, it disassociates the bundled splitters/decoders from some kinds of avi.
Thank you! Just tried and yes I see it. Any chance of getting codec id and peak bitrate too? Is peak bitrate info stored in file headers or does it have to be calculated?
Rémi you're the boss but the majority of VLC options I've never touched and will never need to touch (therefore they are 'useless' at least to me), while I definitely would use the requested volume control if it existed in VLC. It's about configuration imo not troubleshooting.
It's adware. Know of something similar that isn't (and that doesn't require .NET)?
I know it's a lot of mostly unimportant info. If you could at least add the codec ID (e.g. 55 etc for MP3), peak bitrate and encoder info, that's really what I miss in VLC.
I think anyone who has accidentally clicked above 100 on the volume bar with headphones on and their stereo turned up would know perfectly well where the option is.
I mean as much as possible from Super's extended (advanced analysis) codec screen (especially codec format tag info). Also a peak bitrate field would be very helpful. Thanks again!!
Hi, I'd like to request the extended codec info shown in other programs (super etc) be added to VLC's Codec Information page. The info is very useful. Or maybe a plugin already exists to do this? Thanks.
On my system, starting Firefox 3.64 or IE7 with the latest Adobe Flash plugin (11.xx) results in permanently wonky video, even after exiting the browsers.. screen pauses when right-clicking the mouse etc, and VLC loses hardware acceleration (MPC and WMP don't). Also as mentioned in another thread US...
For anyone who still runs on analog monitors, if you're having inexplicable stuttering problems double-check the Help/More Help/Override box in DXDIAG.EXE. I was switching between two resolutions (at different refresh rates) and forgot to update this entry, it caused bad stuttering no matter what el...
