SO I tried the 64 bit nighlty build ... alas no sound. I was able to try Foobar2000, Media Player Classic, and POTPlayer, and all of these played my 24 bit files without fail in Windows 7, with other apps running.
So I truly hope this VLC glitch gets fixed ....

Hello VLC_help, 1) Can you elaborate on the bug that is causing my problem? Anything I can do to VLC to mitigate the problem? I see a need for a 64 bit version of VLC for Windows 7 for the following reason: Running more than 1 or 2 32 bit apps in Windows 7 (64 bit version) bogs down the 32 bit support.
