I have the same problem.
I understand that the mentioned de-interlacing modes are very CPU-Intensive.
But when I use them with VLC versions older than v2.0 I don't get video stuttering.

I've tried out some core affinity settings. After limiting affinity to a single core, the use of any deinterlacing method leads to choppy playback.

Hi all, first let me say that I don't know if this problem is general or OS-specific, as I use VLC player on Win7x64 and don't have any other reference.
