How about putting a 'MOUSE-OVER TEXT' showing what mode the repeat- or no-repeat mode is presently active.

Frankly, the present symbols there are non-definitive - and don't even give any idea of that is where you are - or where you want to go to!

Is there any way to get VLC to operate in English rather than Finnish? I am using two identical computers - desktops. Both have Win8 - Finnish - the home computer is yielding VLC English - when instaalling at work - I only get Finnish. I decided to take the whole VLC folder to work from the computer...

For the last few weeks I've been getting frequent 'not requested' looping (usually about 15 sec) on 2 different computers - one XP, one Win7 - different servers - both Chrome and FF - VLC 2.1.2. I believe it happened also on 2.1.1 as have recently updated and don't know whether the looping pre-dated...

I had same question - happened to find this thread searching 'icons'

Pretty damn poor to put a button like that in such a place - totally anti-intuitive - and unmarked - who the heck is going over there with a 'mouse over' move.

Mark the button properly and/or put the choice under 'View'
