Use double quotes ( " " ) for the path, too. If you specify more files they are queued up in the playlist. Works for me.

Jean-Baptiste, I have a similar problem, upgraded from 2.0.2 to 2.0.4 today. It's a startup problem where the VLC window is restored to my primary monitor even though I close it in maximized state in my secondary monitor. Downgrading to 2.0.3 does not solve the problem while a further downgrade back...

Ok, appearently viewtopic.php?f=14&t=99507#p334649 (set to DirectX output) does the trick for me as well, I hope the data I supplied might helps to choose a better default value in future versions... thank you for your time.
