Same issue here with what appear to be PGS subs (embedded in MKVs). They are not centered at all. Happens to all similar files on VLC 2.0.1. and 1.1.x versions.

found a workaround by enabling the native lion fullscreen preference but then it disables the fullscreen video device preference!

I would also like to know how to change the http interface default port (8080) to a port of my choice. I have finally been successful at connecting my phone to vlc 2.0.1. but can't find where to edit the port :O
