Re: Merge video clips not working

I'm using 3.0.7.1 for Windows, same issue as described in earlier comments. Moreover, the command line option to merge videos also does not work.

If the feature can't be fixed, can the feature be removed? So as to not mislead users.

What Happened to VLC?

I am a VLC user for... oh boy ages of "decades". To me it was always the very best, lighter, compatible and useful media player. Keep in mind I also am not a update maniac, I just update in the face of a public exploit, considerable features improvement, etc. Usually once or twice a year. ...

Re: [3.0.6] Losing focus in fullscreen, hotkeys won't work until clicking

Even if unchecking that option helps with the focus/control bug this is still a (major) regression that should be dealt with. I am also using Mate/Marco and wonder if that's related. If it would be more common there would probably more reports on it but I could not find any.

There have already been bug reports: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/22383 https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/22395 Workaround (with probably higher CPU usage): "The problem disappears when I change the menu settings "Advanced Preferences\Video\Output modules\Video output module&quo...

Re: Updated my VLC player and it glitched out

I haven't tested setting directX instead of "auto" as suggested above. But it seems to be a workaround instead of a "fix". IMHO HW acceleration "auto" should work in 3.0.7, as it did in 3.0.6.

Re: No Acceleration with "Direct3D11 video output" + "Direct3D11 Video Acceleration"?

Problematic file? I don't think there's anything special about the file. I tested many others I have, of differing origin and varying codecs, and I see the same issue for all of them. I never see any acceleration using the settings reported above - no difference between "Disable" and "...

No Acceleration with "Direct3D11 video output" + "Direct3D11 Video Acceleration"?

I noticed that I'm not seeing any change in the CPU load when I have the Video Output set to "Direct3D11 video output" and toggle between "Disable" and "Direct3D11 Video Acceleration" for Hardware Accelerated Decoding. That says to me that the Direct3D11 acceleration op...

Crash Trace - VLC or Nvidia Issue?

I'm trying to solve this bug (so I'm on Windows 64-bit, with a GTX 1060, etc.) I finally got the debug version of VLC built and ran it with gdb attached. I'm seeing this stack trace (I've included the gdb logs as well): warning: direct3d9 vout di...

Re: Building VLC 3.0.6 for Windows on OpenSUSE Leap 15

It didn't seem to get installed with wine, and I installed every package I saw.

In the end I just gave up and installed Ubuntu in a virtual machine. Getting the build instructions working on Ubuntu was still a struggle as there are several issues not mentioned in the guide that have to be overcome.

Re: Building VLC 3.0.0 rc2 from the nightly source archive...

So just to add, that the other thing missing from the rc2 source archive is the share/hrtfs folder.
Good point too. I will fix.
This is still missing from the tar archive of the release, vlc-3.0.6.tar.xz

Re: Error following the Win32Compile Wiki page

Ugh. Apparently that huge effort was just for the plugins! The guide could be clearer.

Now, I've got to install a newer version of Ubuntu and rerun everything because 18.04 LTS doesn't offer the GCC 8 toolchain which is needed to avoid errors I'm hitting.

Re: Error following the Win32Compile Wiki page

I actually fixed the problem above by pointing CC and LD in Makefile.mingw at the x86_64-w64-mingw32 versions, and correcting the library path to point to /usr/x86_64-w64-mingw32/lib, and the make actually finished! But now where is the VLC zip or exes I can run on Windows? The instructions for pack...

Is this the appropriate forum to ask for help building VLC for Windows, on Linux, using the official guide? Re: Serious crash in VLC reported 11 months ago, why no progress?

"High priority"? High priority would be it getting fixed in a few days. Not getting touched in a year means it ha NO priority at all. Looks like the bug reporting system is just to make us feel good about ourselves. Anyone who actually has a debug environment for VLC would find the repro i...

Serious crash in VLC reported 11 months ago, why no progress?

I reported a crash in VLC on Windows almost a year ago, including full repro instructions and even sample media. To avoid the crash I have to switch to software rendering, which is inefficient.

Will someone ever take a look at this bug? Is "Steve Lhomme" even a real person?

I made some research, and have another idea: It would be awesome if VLC could support PAC files ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Proxy_auto-config )

The reason this doesn't work for me is because I would import multiple streams from multiple sources, and each of them requires to be in a different country.

Proxy setting for network stream

Bonjour,

I would love to be able to set proxy settings when loading a network stream. The reason for this is to evade geo-blocking for each import.
Let me know what you think.

Good evening, i am developing a embedded music player with libVLC using the media list. I would like to disable...
