Is .flv support official?

I've been stuck at 0.8.4 because later versions didn't support .flv.

Happily, 0.8.6-test2 supports it. At least none of them have crashed yet.

Is this official? The release notes mention something vague about better support for Flash but that's about it.

I reported this when 0.8.5 was first released

I considered replacing the plugin/codec that handled this but I couldn't figure out which of the 195 it was.

I only have 3 .flv files. In fact I had never heard of them until a few days ago when I learned how to download files from YouTube. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I already had a media player that could play them. 2 of the 3 crash 0.8.5 but the other plays fine. The ones that crash play for...
