Thought I would drop by and let you know that I got the same frame dropping and choppy playback as described earlier. Using 64bit 2.1.0-git-20120212-0402 on an i5 2500k. Setting FFmpeg to use 1 or 2 threads solved most of the dropping for me but there is still some [less noticeable] frame drops left...
