Well, I unchecked them all when installing it, my FLACs used to open in WMP, and now they all have the little orange cone icon and double clicking them calls VLC.

Reset the preferences, exit and uninstall VLC, reboot your computer, then reinstall VLC and set the file associations you want during the setup. It's nonsense to have to uninstall and reinstall to change associations, especially since the installer grabs associations that were UNchecked during the ...

Actually, it's nonsense that VLC takes over everything even when you UNcheck all the extensions during the installation, then gives you no way to change associations without uninstalling it and installing it again.

I'm using VLC 1.1.11 in Win7_x64, and cannot get it to play any u-Law files.

You're saying I need to find the older version and install that instead?
