I have to press the stop button several times when I want to close a Matroska file (close the video window and leave only the controls). So far, I've only had this problem with Matroska files. I'm using Win2000 and VLC 0.8.2

I have currently installed on Windows 2000 versions 0.8.1 and 0.8.2 of VLC. I can't save the preferences and I think it may be because both versions are using the same preference file. Is there a way to make them use different files?

Can VLC play for me an e-Mule .part file if some parts of movie are already downloaded but not the beginning. :?

p.s. if beginning and end is in file, VLC plays fine

I think the main interface in Windows should change the play/pause/stop/etc. icons, they are boring. At least put them in another color.

make an image of the dvd using a burning program

load up the image as a virtual drive using daemon tools

use videolan to open the dvd as usual pointing to the virtual drive

It's not a matter of a missing codec, there's not even a black screen. The player doesn't resize to allow room for the video, and it doesn't bring up a new window in which to display the video. It just acts as if there's no video to display. This happens to me when there IS a missing codec. without...

You can right clic the video and select "Always on top"

win2k sp4 funny really when i watch the movies on fullscreen, the taskbar still remains visible. on the other hand, the vobsub support works flawless for me... I have the same problem and same OS. The player splits in controls and video window when going full screen and the taskbar doesn't disappear.
