I have no idea what a .ram container is or if it's a raw file format.

It's a Real Media container format, usually with Real Audio.

You have to choose wxwidgets from the dropdown menu:

But when I use the two fastest of these (x4, x 8), the image from the DVD just freezes, though the fast-forward winding goes on. Maybe your computer isn't fast enough to play a dvd that fast? Also, to get back to normal-play from these faster speeds, I have to progressively click on the slower spee...

You could also use the "play faster" button.

Maybe they should put a search button in the preferences window, it's a pain to look for options.

Really DVD+R disks shouldn't be used for video file storage. But setting this aside a commercial DVD should now display the correct time. However MPEG 2 files (.MPEG) and MPEG 1 files (.MPG) still have some minor discrepancies. I think you misunderstood me. DVD+VR is a "special" DVD forma...

1. Using VLC 0.8.5 most of the time indication problems have been resolved and this revolved around MPEG files not OGG/OGM.

I am using VLC on W2k SP4 and when I pause a movie, the volume bar disappears. Minimizing and restoring the VLC window or resizing it makes the bar reappear. 2/ on windows, you can enable the "showintf" control interface in the prefs.

When I do that, the window that appears is the same size as the original video.
