as mentioned in the links above provided by mcantu, the temp fix is to install older nvidia drivers. Not the latest 295 drivers which caused this issue.

I have tested it and i am using VLC again!! no more memory related issues :D

mcantu: thanks about the info. small question though, why should i install a 32bit version on a 64 bit machine? Because 64 bit VLC isn't very well tested. okay, will wait for the nvidia drivers. I tried another media player and the same problem occured but it took a little more time then with VLC :...

yep, like Indievidulle said, i tried it with the 2.0.0 version and it still has the same problem


you'd expect RAM to go back down after you close VLC but it doesnt, thats whats so frustrating. Also the jerky video in full screen still occurs after about 2 hours of watching :cry:
