as mentioned in the links above provided by mcantu, the temp fix is to install older nvidia drivers. Not the latest 295 drivers which caused this issue.

I have tested it and i am using VLC again!! no more memory related issues

yep, like Indievidulle said, i tried it with the 2.0.0 version and it still has the same problem


you'd expect RAM to go back down after you close VLC but it doesnt, thats whats so frustrating. Also the jerky video in full screen still occurs after about 2 hours of watching
