I think I've solve the problem --- I carefully and thoroughly went through all the settings on my Mac that effect or could effect accessing the external drive with VLC, and with those changes I was able to access the Media Drive with an Anonymous login.

I'm using VLC with Mac Mini. I know this is a basic question....but... When I resize the video screen, then pause the video, and then exit, when I reopen the video it does NOT open in the same screen size as I paused it (and I have to reset it again). I'm using the current version of VLC, and I want to be able to reopen a video I watched before so that the window is automatically the same size as when I watched the video earlier. Is there a setting the does this (I thought pausing the video before closing it might do that, but it doesn't seem to)?

Please excuse how basic this question is but I'm using VLC 3.0.1 with a Mac Mini and Apple TV4. Does VLC grab metadata for videos/movies and display it with the movie listing (like Plex or iTunes), and if so, how do I set that up?

Using VLC with El Capitan. I know how to change a video's aspect ratio...but is there a way to do that, for a specific video, and keep that ratio? When I change the ratio to a correct one, it doesn't hold for that video if I close it and then later re-open it.

Is it possible to hard-code subtitles and export the video using VLC? I want to add subtitles (hard-coded) so I can burn a video to a DVD. If it's possible, please tell me where to find the instructions or how to do it.
