Re: Help us test VLC for Android and report bugs

The bug in question is a Samsung driver bug, as revealed by the testing. VLC functions perfectly well on all other phones/tablets w.r.t. this problem. Graphics firmware can be hard to debug sometimes, so it may be that VLC has stumbled across a poorly tested combination of circumstances. Note that ...

Re: Help us test VLC for Android and report bugs

How are other players not affected?
Do you have crystal balls for sale?
Why the disingenuous/irrelevant response?
The default android video player is open source, so that may be a good point of reference.
Does VLC make use of the GPU in some way that others do not?

Re: Help us test VLC for Android and report bugs

Well, we did some testing and you can see the results below: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/8781#comment:8 Basically VLC's output reaches Android perfectly fine, as seen from the debugger, but it fails to make the jump due to a bug in the Samsung hardware overlay. This was verified as VLC wor...

Re: Help us test VLC for Android and report bugs

https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/8781 Thanks for the replies, Jean-Baptiste and Edward. I reviewed the trac ticket. I was wondering how it was determined that it's a Samsung bug. Could it have something to do, rather, with hardware that VLC isn't expecting? I only ask because VLC (and Joe VLC P...

Re: Help us test VLC for Android and report bugs

I'm running a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S4 (SCH-I545), Android 4.2.2, Snapdragon S600 (APQ8064T). I am running http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/android-armv7/VLC-debug-20130912-0105.apk. I have videos taken with the camera that are H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10), resolution 1920x1080, that if I am hold...

Re: Delphi build NPAPI VLC plugin question

Aside from no GUI controls unless in full screen mode (double click on the video), the default NPAPI plugin mostly works for me in firefox & chromium.

Using the mp4 example above, I can watch the video, but I cannot scrub to different parts of the video once the video has ended.

Re: Delphi build NPAPI VLC plugin question

Hey Jean-Baptiste, That's good for you, but adds nothing to my request for any advice...on this particular matter... I sincerely/naively thought this was the place to be with these kind of questions about "exotic developing endeavours"...but maybe I'm wrong ;-) Well, maybe you or anyone c...
