Support of chapter markers or bookmarks

I created a company promo video clip in standard mpeg-2 using Sony Vegas. Now my boss wants to have the capability of navigating through the video with chapter marks. I know I can add chapter marks in Vegas, render to mpeg-2 and then author to .vob retaining those chapter marks, but does the vlc pla...

Problems playing uncompressed avi

I'm running VLC 0.8.6i. Every time I want to play uncompressed avi, I either get nothing but black or it shows a couple of frames and that's it. While this is happening, the slider moves quite erratically to the right. The uncompressed files were all created in Sony Vegas Pro, using the default unco...

Incorrect display of video duration/Timer too slow

I noticed, when playing certain mpeg-2 encoded files or VOB files, the total file duration displayed on the bottom is too short and the timer runs too slow. Anyone encounterd this also?

There is no error message, the audio just skips. I did select the Win32 waveOut extensions output, no change, still skips. I'm not sure where to check the date of my audio drivers, can you specify that, please.

This is so weird. I even re-installed VLC, nothing seems to help. HELP!

Audio skipping during first 5-6 seconds of playback.

I just installed VLC for the first time and tested it (Version 0.8.4, stable). I have serious audio skipping/distortion problems during the first 5 or 6 seconds, after that the audio plays back just fine. This occurs when opening any file (video or audio). The video is fine, it's just the audio that...
