If you install from the daily ppa (haven't tried the stable), VLC loads the embedded MKV cover arts in its library view. Just double click on the movie. Video starts to play and when you look back you see that it's thumbnailed.

Any chance to have this feature any time soon? This is an indispensible convenience for a functional (MKV) video library and currently it's only possible in Gnome/Nautilus which is the sole reason of my imprisonement in Gnome.

A video library wihtout the movie cover arts is not very functional. A clear visual clue is needed for browsing and embedding DVD cover arts into MKV files is a perfect solution. Yet Linux users can see those embedded MKV covers only in Gnome/Nautilus (whose memory usage gets ballooning at once). I'...
