main: caught in a callback deadlock?

Can anyone help me out?
I get this message when playing a simple .avi file

When i try to open a video file i get this message
I can see the video part but nothing from the audio...
Can i do smth about it???

main: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `undf'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

Wheb trying to start vlc, the icon in the dock is jumping but status is immediately "not responding".
Tried to reinstall but without succes.
Even the controle bar at the top hat disappeard..
Who can help??
