The problem still exists for videos with top field first when using double deinterlacers like Yadif 2x or Phosphor. Videos with bottom field first play fine. When I have time, I will post bug report with 2 sample files.

You've already answered most of it. Windows XP 32 bit on MacBookPro bootcamp partition. Yadif works, Yadif(2x) crashes on every file. Anyway, will wait for the patch. Thanks.

Downloaded VLC media player 1.2.0-rc1 Twoflower. Any time I switch to Yadif(2x), VLC crashes.

Played a few footages and it looks like if I feed the DVDs with interlaced footage (top field first) or Huffyuv AVI with top field first to VLC, any doubling deinterlacer makes things worse (except for yadif(2x) which simply crashes VLC). Hello, I am totally new to VLC player. I downloaded one yesterday. I don't see Phosphor and IVTC deinterlacers. The last one is being Yadiff(2x). According to this http://wiki.videolan.org/Deinterlacing#Doublers they should be there. Are they found in the older version? Or do I need to download them...
