Sending video to HDMI output using command line.

Hey guys,
I am wondering a way that I could play a video via command line to my HDMI port, the HDMI output would be plugged to a HD TV.
Do you know any way that I could do this with VLC? I have looking through the VLC documentation, but I could not see any way of doing that.
