Re: Missing Sparkle.h for latest mac (Leopard) build?

I get the Sparkle error too, when trying to compile vlc git from today as 64 bit. I also have to use "--disable-lua". When compiling with the "--with-mozilla-sdk-path=./extras/contrib/hosts/x86_64-apple-darwin10/gecko-sdk --enable-mozilla" argument, for the Safari plugin, I also ...

Re: Problems with DTS & MKV

Well, I have switched to OSXBMC (osxbmc.com) now :) It's the best mediacenter for the best OS ! It plays my 1080p 1536DTS's perfectly :) It uses the latest SVN builds of FFMPEG underneath the hood so we have all the cutting edge features all the time. Give it a try  which is only for Leopard ...

Re: Problems with DTS & MKV

I've not been able to verify the issue since my mbp has been stolen :(

But it sounds like it's working fine now so _huge_ thanks to you guys for fixing this issue.
Working fine, but you have to use the nightlies and they are very buggy, I see a lot of preferences problems, codec problems etc. :(

Re: Problems with DTS & MKV

Directore, I downloaded and tested the nightly builds from januari 4, 2 and 1 for Mac OSX Intel but all have the messy video-output (1080p) which frequently stops also. Audio (DTS) is perfect though. When I try the same content with version 0.8.6d I get very good and fluent video but choppy audio, ...

Re: Choppy DTS performance

I'm using the latest MPlayer, link is in the other dts thread, for all my 1.5Mb DTS movies.

It works perfectly!

Actually MPlayer seems at least as good as VLC, so I'm considering changing for all my movie watching.

Re: Problems with DTS & MKV

I too can confirm that dts mkv's work perfectly in the latest MPlayer.

ToeCutter, what does the "-cache" parameter do? (I don't use that, and they still work).

I have the exact same problem!

High bitrate DTS stutters, connected with SPDIF to my receiver.

Any solution?

Re: Support for HD-DVD (.EVO) files

I have successfully compiled a build of MPlayer that plays HD DVD/Blu-ray .EVO/.m2ts files with Dolby Digital+ audio ! It works really great on my end. It's compiled for Intel Mac's and I have made a guide with links to the .app I compiled here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=114217...

it would be nice to have *.EVO files .. Then your best bet is MPlayer, unfortunately, video is working great and commentary tracks etc. (that are not E-AC3) works too. Well, I wouldn't call it "great" (It's still glitchy at times and blacks are much noisier than they should be)... but at ...

Thank you ToeCutter... No worries, Martin (I saw you're Evo-related posts on several forums ;-) Were in the same "Wanna watch HD-DVDs on Mac" boat.... I've talked to some FFMPEG developers and they're currently working on a52/b (or E-AC3) support. This will be in MPlayer as soon as they f...

Re: random but frequent crashes

I have also been experiencing a lot of crashes lately. Mostly when playing x264 files and changing settings, e.g. from some weird setting to 16:9. But also on random occasions when choosing subtitles and every now and then when forwarding/rewinding. The bad part is that when it crashes it kills the...

MPlayer plays HD DVD .EVO files!

Hi

I just compiled the latest MPlayer SVN and it now plays .EVO files (a bit laggy using CoreVideo).

Can this help implementing it in VLC too?

So I guess it's coming... Am I right in assuming that if FFMPEG supports it, so will VLC (sooner or later)? The day ffmpeg supports it it'll be in VLC (developement version) :) Read this on the Doom9 forum today: "ffmpeg included EVO demuxxing today. So I hope soon there is no need for a exter...

Can I request an updated MPEG-PS demuxer then, that supports VC-1 .EVO's? You can, but that won't make it happen. To make it happen, someone has to send a patch (sure way), or to send a legal sample (much less sure way). It has little chance of happening without something to validate against. By &q...

Or maybe not. I presume it's a demutiplexer problem, and as far as I know, VLC uses its own MPEG-PS demuxer, rather than ffmpeg's libavformat. Ok, thanks for that info! Can I request an updated MPEG-PS demuxer then, that supports VC-1 .EVO's? :) Would it be possible to implement it in an upcoming n...

First, are you sure the media is not encrypted? Second, no, it hardly helps. Only a legal ly-copyable sample would really help. Thanks for the reply :) Yes, the media is not encrypted, I'm sure. Ok, I don't know about a legally-copyable sample, but the files, as far as I know are encoded with MPEG-...
