Video Display "Scrubbing" on H.264

Dear Forum, I am trying to get VLC to show uncorrupted display when "scrubbing" H.264 videos where scrubbing referring to moving the progress slider bar with the mouse. The video encoder types of most interest are Mp2 and H.264. Performance on the Mp2 files available to test with seems goo...

Re: Udp to Mms buffering time via udp-caching

Worked fine except there was virtually no delay introduced. For test I am using a video with a clock on it - they are basically showing the same time.

Udp to Mms buffering time via udp-caching

Dear Forum, I am receiving video via UDP and outputting it via Mms. Higher CPU usage or other factors can cause jitter in the video ouput display. I am attempting to add an additional second or two of buffering time to correct this, and I assume on the input is the best place to do this. I need to d...

Mms stream video wt no audio to Media Element

All, I have struggled with this problem for some time and have yet to find a cure... I am sending an Mms stream to Windows MediaElement. This works great when an audio es is included in the video stream. When it is video only however MediaElement will not display the video. This has been perplexing ...

Cant get VLC to accept Mms stream via command line.

Hi Forum, I am having an issue with Mms stream receipt with VLC. I am able to receive a stream when I set it up via the GUI, but I cant get VLC to accept this input from the command line. From the gui the URL I use is: mmsh://IP:Port, such as mmsh://172.33.2.22:8080. Since VLC can accept an Mms stre...

Re: How to add dummy audio output for Media Element

Gentlemen, thank you for your responses... How to add dummy audio output for Media Element

Dear Forum, I have struggled long and mightily to get Microsoft Media Element to consistently accept an MMS stream containing transcoded .wmv content. The goal has been to have VLC accept a "real-time" input stream (e.g. Udp), transcode it to "wmv" format, and restream it via Mms...

Dear Forum,

I am interested in being able to extract closed captioning information. In looking into it, I see I can add closed captioning from a file, but can I extract closed captioning and save it to file?

Thx,

Re: does "--rate" param work in file2file, non-gui transcode

..... so are you saying that the transcode should operate at a much faster rate on a fast processor, or is the transcode tied to real time or some multiple of it? I tried the transcoder on on an extremely fast server on which several weeks ago I had run run 6 Mp2 stream to Mp4 file simultaneous conv...

Transcode speed up ("X-Factor")?

Hi Forum, I am transcoding files; i.e. the input and the output to VLC are both files. Within the GUI I see I can speed up that processing to as high as 4x. My questions are: 1) Is 4x as fast as I can specify the transcode rate within the GUI? 2) What is the fastest I can specify the transcode rate ...

Humm.... at least one of the versions I used is 1.3 identifying itself as follows: "VLC media player 1.3.0-git-20111205-0004 Rincewind"

Believe other machine that also had problem was running the 1.1.11 available from the VideoLan main web page.
