I am attempting to transcode an HD, 103 MB AVCHD file (.M2TS) to a .MOV also in HD.

Then I play the file and it's audio only.
I've got the same problem on linux with vlc 1.1.2 and opened a bug report for it: https://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/5560
