I have reset all preferences, and reset fullscreen mode and there is no change.

I have set and reset these options several times, and I have tried enabling and disabling "native" full screen. The result is always the same. Videos always start in the state VLC was in the last time it was closed. If it was fullscreen when last exited, the next time it opens fullscreen. ...

I have Fullscreen Video Output set as the default in preferences. Yet it does not always start fullscreen. It seems to ignore the setting and start however it was when last closed. Any idea why? I'm on VLC 2.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.10.3.

I just installed 2.0.4 and the startup lag seems to be much improved!

Does anyone know if there is an older version I could roll back to until this problem is fixed?
