I'm using it already. But that's the problem, "DirectX (DirectDraw)" doesn't work properly anymore (on 2nd screen).
Disabling overlay doesn't help and even if it would this setting would not be an option for me because I need overlay mode.
It's funny because playing shortcuts isn't supported by any version prior to 2.1.0, at least on my system (XP SP3 x32). I can't use 2.1.0+ so I would like to have this function with 2.0.8. As implied by this thread it should work already with 2.0.5? But how? I just doesn't work for me. I have tested...
Same problem. I already mentioned it in another thread when I thought it's a bug with overlay. As I found out, it's not a problem with overlay itself. Vlc seems to use "DirectX (DirectDraw)" as standard video output module. At least this one is the only one which activates overlay mode, so...
Sorry to hijack this thread but my problem is very very similar. I'm sure this will not be fixed soon but maybe my complaint helps to make you recognize it as a bug. Since after version 1.1.7 with every new version vlc will crash totally random when a new file is loaded to play. Crash as in just dis...
How do I enable GPU decoding if the latest version (2.1.1) doesn't have it in the settings at all?
After updating I can't use vlc anymore because it's using my cpu which isn't good enough.
It won't play in overlay mode.
It worked in 2.1.0, why it's not working anymore?
The Bug is still not fixed. After starting a videofile the correct filename is shown for a ms, but will vanish instantly. What surprises me is that this bug is not only unfixed since years besides of being a very simple one, but that no dev seems to even get what the problem is. It has nothing to do...
I got it from http://sourceforge.net/projects/portableapps/files/VLC%20Media%20Player%20Portable/Additional%20Versions/ , there you can find nearly all versions as portable ones. It took me quite a while of searching because the list isn't shown in the normal search results. You can find it on pirat...
Now I know why fullscreen mode on second screen is not possible anymore due to too high cpu usage. It is because overlay mode does not work anymore. I have installed vlc several times now and deleted settings/cache, etc., overlay mode is activated. It just does not work. :( Edit: Nevermind, I solved...
I have just discovered something, don't know whether it's the same problem like at the beginning of this thread anymore. The cpu consumption goes up with resizing the window to a bigger one. So in a small window there is no problem but fullscreen is almost impossible, then it takes up to 100% (both ...
Same problem here (since v2). Thank you judas black for the workaround, it's muuuuuch better now :) Data: Intel Core 2 Duo T9300@2.50GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT 512MB, 3GB RAM, Win XP x32. From vlc v2 on all versions consume 40-50% of CPU (so up to 100% of the first core which leads to extremely sl...
Same problem here. 2 displays, one with vlc fullscreen, unfocused -> vlc crashes when single mediafile ends, very often when there are more files in playlist, too (but not always then, but does not matter if focused or not). Very very annoying. And while speaking about annoying things, the latest vl...
