Re: Can subtitles also be returned as part of the playlist?

Hello mederi, Sorry for not answering earlier, but I have been busy all week. But your suggestion nailed it! The syntax :input-slave=[access]/subtitle://[subtitlepath] is indeed the working one !! Great, thanks for all your help. For those interested in how to do this, my code is as follows: -- Extr...

Re: Can subtitles also be returned as part of the playlist?

Ok, brilliant. Took me a bit to figure out what you meant, but got it now. First tried it with the sub-file option, but that didn't work as it is apparently expecting a local file as an argument, and not a URL. (he kept trying to open c:\....\VLC\http://....) Using 'options = { input-slave=http://.....

Re: Is the "Preferred video resolution" setting working correctly?

Hello Lotesdelere, thanks for getting back to me. Sorry to be a pain, but I'm trying to fully understand what that setting is supposed to do. Are you suggesting now that it doesn't have any effect on HLS streams? If so, what kind of input is it supposed to have an effect on? I'm failing to understan...

Is the "Preferred video resolution" setting working correctly?

Hello, I'm struggling trying to understand the "Preferred video resolution" setting (Tools>Preferences>Input/Codecs). I don't know if this is a known issue, but I couldn't find any recent posts on it, and most of them are related to Youtube. Now, I've set my preferred video resolution to S...

Can subtitles also be returned as part of the playlist?

Hello, I'm in the process of writing an LUA script for parsing an external data source, feeding it back to VLC with the parse() function. Now the documentation on that function states that it has to return playlist item(s), those items being, amongst others, .path: the item's full path / URL .name: ...

Re: How VLC knows URLs of the video stream

I came here looking for this answer as well. Where can we find this extractor, and is there a way we can contribute towards expanding it for other websites? Some basic pointers would be appreciated. ... Ok, in the meantime I did some research. Am I correct in understanding a "lua" script s...

Re: Vlc 2.2.1 solves, fixes the resume playback feature!!!

---It is by default selected as Ask and here is what Ask does. When you listen to say an mp3 audio file, and then close VLC without even stopping it, the next time you open it, it will show very quickly ( too quickly to my taste ) an option at the top left of the VLC window to resume the audio file...

Re: Vlc 2.2.0 - Resume playback? How? Where? When?

Seems that, if I double-click a video (.mp4) in Windows explorer, VLC doesn't add it to its "recent media" list ("Media->Open recent media"), and doesn't remember where I left off. If I open the video from within VLC ("Media->Open File") though, it will add it to its r...

Requiem is a java software that will strip the DRM off your iTunes library. Do a Google search on 'java requiem' and you should have no problem finding it.

Re: Programme title not showing up watching DVB-T in VLC 2.x

Hi JB, If you mean the media information window, yes, the info shows up under "now playing" (screenshot below). Also, the EPG guide is up-to-date, so VLC knows all the info it should display. I just understand why this was working in VLC 1.x, and not in 2.x anymore. A lot of the old code m...

Programme title not showing up watching DVB-T in VLC 2.x

Hi all, I hope somebody can point me in the right direction. I'm not sure this is a bug, but I've had this issue ever since VLC jumped to the 2.x release. I've just tested the nightly builds, and it's still not working. Before, in VLC 1.1.11 I could watch DVB-T, press the "t" shortcut, and...

Re: Jump to file number ## on playlist.

Hi, I found this topic by searching the forum. I had a similar question. I'm using a playlist to watch DVB-T channels, thus having about 30 different channels/frequencies listed in the playlist. But if I want to change channel, each time I have to open the playlist, click on the channel I want and c...

Re: M3U file on vlc 1.1.0 for DVB-T TV

Hi, Sorry to dig up an old post, but is the above list still valid, and do all channels work? I used to have an old TNT.conf file which, if I remember correctly, worked fine. However, with the above list some channels don't work. As an example: M6 and W9 (amongst others). I've been trying to compile...
