Continuous Frame Capture

I am interested in continuous frame capture, rather than just a single frame snapshot. To get a good shot from a scene it is necessary to get several frames, run them through an image processor, and then see which is acceptable. Presently, obtaining many consecutive frames is painful, and error pron...

Re: avi to png?

Until someone writes the code nothing ever happens.

This is a feature request.

Re: Slave Card

The topic is capture from a slave card, not where to find Tools. But thanks for straightening me out.

Private messages is enabled in my profile.

Any help on the topic?

Re: avi to png?

Could something like it be reinstated? To get a good still of a scene, one has to use several frames, run them all through a image processor, and then see which is acceptable. Doing the frame/snapshot sequence many times makes this quite undesirable. I have gone to another video player which does ha...

Re: Slave Card

You're absolutely right. Sorry, I have a similar thread going at WinTV, and got them mixed. My bad.

However, this is all a non-helpful distraction from the point.

Re: Slave Card

Since I could not find "Tools" anywhere in the player, Win TV v7, I looked in the startup menu. The subtopic under Tools are: BlastCfg, Restart IR, Restart WinTV Extender Service, Restart WinTV Extend Server, Stop Hauppauge TV Server, and Stop IR. Perhaps it should be there, but it isn't, ...

Re: Slave Card

I don't quite know how to respond to directions that say no more than: open it, set it, start it. When such is attempted with the "DirectShow" setting, the following message appears: Capture failed: The capture device "Hauppauge Colossus Capture 0" does not support the required p...

Slave Card

My Hauppauge Colossus is set up as slave rather than master; that is, it just plays the component input, and does not control the settop box. Thus there are no channels.

How do I set up VLC to play the output?

Re: how do I get to these options in the current release?

:-| With a long list of technical options, or a simple, on-the-fly, user friendly form as before? What means "better"?

Re: how do I get to these options in the current release?

Same question here: what happened to the "post processing quality" option? My main reason for using this rather then the many alternatives. :(

I have thought about it.

The bottom line is that several very popular downloads work in QT but not in yours. You might want to have some user concern and actually address the problem, rather than bash the messenger.

I reiterate: Such simple things as the Ask A Ninja subscription downloads cause multiple windows and then a big choke. There are no multiple streams when played, quite satisfactorily, in QT. VLC simply can't handle this very popular source. This example is sited because it is well known and readily ...

Similar issue: multiple windows & then a big choke on subscription down loads from several sites including:

http://www.askaninja.com/

which used to work. Plays fine in other players.

videobomb

Why does the latest version play very little from the very popular "videobomb.com" site? Democracy TV had the same problem for a while.

Hauppauge

I have a Hauppauge 350 capture card, and would like to use the VLC Player as its output device. I read the provided directions, and they did describe a player that had a couple of things in common with the one you provided. However, judging by the very large number of (predominantly ignored) setting...

Everytning OK except Quicktime streaming

Everything works very nicely except Quicktime streaming. The same file downloaded plays nicely. The playback hangs up at the start. If I keep pushing the elapsed time cursor back to the start, it will sometimes work, however it often hangs half way through. Am on a 1.5 Meg cable, and the card says i...
