Re: Move window away from mouse

If you're on Mac OS X, one thing you can do right now is command-drag the video window. Command-dragging lets you move a window in a background program without bringing that program to the front. So you still have to manually move the VLC video window, but it saves you a couple of keystrokes in that...

Re: fade on fullscreen disable option - please!

Mac OS X. I was under the impression that all the different versions of VLC for different OSes were all feature identical. Is that not the case?

Re: Suggest a "frame advance" feature in pause

Sounds pretty good. :o Hey, breakneckridge thinks much like the CloudStalker, more of an idea person then a programming wiz. Keep it up. :P Awesome, glad you like my idea! So, do I need to do something to bring this idea to any particular developer? Or should I just assume that all the developers r...

Re: Single frame advance

I just posted an idea of how to implement a frame advance feature in the thread linked to above. I think my idea should work. There definitely must be a workable way to get this feature implemented one way or another.

Re: Suggest a "frame advance" feature in pause

Other threads on implementing a frame advance feature referred to this thread, so I think this it the right place to post this. I'm not a programmer in any way, but it seems to me that there should be a simple solution to implementing a frame advance feature. For instance, VLC has the ability to tak...

fade on fullscreen disable option - please!

VLC now fades up and fades down when you enter or exit fullscreen. This is terribly annoying! Often times I just want to get a glimpse of a video full screen to check its full screen quality, and the fade up and fade down are a big pain. Also, when I view a short video clip that's just a few seconds...

Yup, not a VLC issue. It's because whatever OS X user account you're using doesn't have high enough privileges or your permissions need repair through Disk Utility.

0.8.5 is really buggy!

I haven't posted on the subject until now because I'm a big fan of VLC and I've been trying to give the new version the benefit of the doubt, but after using 0.8.5 for a few weeks I have to say that the previous version was WAAAYYY more stable. 0.8.5 crashes on me all the time and even when it doesn...

Does anyone know the best way to reach the Mac specific version developers? I'd like to bring this issue to their attention.

I don't know what it officially means but I can tell you that I've seen similar looking errors when trying to play a damaged video file.

It doesn't sound like a vlc problem per se, it sounds like there is some other program or background task that is accessing your hard disk and the disk can't feed data to both simultaneously. MPlayer uses a largish ram buffer so drops in data throughput don't result in interrupted playback. There's ...

There must be a way to add a keyboard shortcut without it having to be a menu option because there are lots of other programs that do it. Even the Finder does it. For instance in the finder if you do command-shift-3 it takes a screenshot, but there is no corresponding menu command for it. So there m...

The skip forward / back 10 second key commands (command-option-arrow keys) work no matter which window is on top, so couldn't the skip forward / back 1 minute command be implemented the same way? Also, I don't really know what you mean when you say "in the menu." Whether the video or contr...
