VLC now fades up and fades down when you enter or exit fullscreen. This is terribly annoying! Yup, not a VLC issue. It's because whatever OS X user account you're using doesn't have high enough privileges or your permissions need repair through Disk Utility.

I don't know what it officially means but I can tell you that I've seen similar looking errors when trying to play a damaged video file.
