.. Early 2019 and still the same problem persists. Nearly 10 years since the thread began. One would be hard-pressed to call me a troll for asking if there is ever going to be an update to fix this problem.

Isn't it about time VLC looked into such a thing? Winamp was doing gap-less playback 20 years ago.

Just wanted to add to this. OFR decoder - RLOFRdec Part of the Satsuki Decoder Pack http://yatoshi.com/en/index.php?p=decoder&PHPSESSID=8589d725779ee01c1c858fd79f6b2e66 I'd love to see OptimFrog .ofr file extension support for VLC as well! I can get them open in Media Player Classic but not VLC....
