a bit late but there is a way to do this. go to preferences, then hotkeys, then find faster slower (fine) and give it a shortcut. save and relaunch. then you can use your shortcut to do it.

Hi, I have video streams (lecture) I would like to save. It plays fine on VLC. I can also transcode to .mp4 .ts when i replay on VLC works great. when i try to play the same file on quicktime or itunes either the video doesnt play (ts) or the audio doesnt (Mp4) so I am assuming VLC is storing sound ...
