Okay, but I don't see how I'm not explaining it correctly. The version says 1.1.11, which is current which is what I said before.

But honestly, this has been an issue through several updates. Right now I'm running the current version because I always hope that updating fixes things. This is an ongoing issue not tied to the version it seems.

4.4.4, and Vista 64, but as I said, the version of vlc is irrelevant. I've updated over 4 times, completely uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch and this still happens.

I've been having an issue for quite a while where VLC won't play any sound when I open a file. If I restart or reopen the file, it fixes this issue. This is really annoying and only happens about 1 out of every 5 times I open something (its completely random and inconsistent). I've updated my player...
