This is a heads-up to the VLC team. Some time ago YouTube live stream links entered into Open Nework Stream... were crashing VLC and we were advised to add files from version 4 to fix it. I'd have to use a separate browser to download videos as you suggest, as no more tabs can be tolerated. Playing the video in Edge and hitting Ctrl+J brings up edge://downloads/all. If you meant "while the video is playing in VLC "... I now find that no YouTube live streams will play in 3.0...

Two years later, the problem persists.

I wonder if our dear devs could assist, or tell me if it is an insurmountable problem.

On my Android phablet the barn opens but the nestbox crashes Firefox (not Focus).

There is definitely something awry with WildlifeTV's links, I get duplicate downloads if I set software to auto on Windows 10.

That's the question. On Windows platform I use VLC to record Network Streams but can't seem to find a way of doing it on Android, and have not found the answer in the Wiki. Unfortunately I don't use my smartphone/phablet often enough to get really familiar with the OS and can't find time to set asid...

Thank you to everyone who's tried to advise :) In the end I had to "bite the bullet" (another program was insisting on an update, killed 2 birds), uninstalled and reinstalled 3.0.4 from a fresh download, as recommended by Hitchhiker. Perfect !!! Closed it down, went on doing something else...

It has become unreliable, playing mp4 videos (for example) sound only with black screen. While I wonder what to do about it I'm using Microsoft's own new offering, which is very nice but no replacement for VLC !!!
