Confirmed: switching the power state to High Perf solves the problem. nice going, kngtrider!

ok, as usual I was too precipitous:
I did't read carefully the message of kngtrider about non-working video heights.
It's not a mod32 problem. 540 works ok.
I must say that I always had the issue. Never happened that it disappeared for some time. and I tried with 3 different nvidia drivers.

is there a way of pre-processing the video (before GPU decoding) by resizing it to a multiple of 32? (It would be a walkaround)

same issue here. (Win 7 64bit, Nvidia GT 425M, VLC 1.1.9)

I'm quite sure that the problem is DXVA2 producing chroma shift for videos with height that is not a multiple of 32.
I tried with the last drivers from NVidia (275.33) but nothing changed.
