File name shown on full screen playback VLC 2.0.3

VLC 2.0.3 seems to have fixed the full screen on second monitor problem. Thanks. Now if I could only remember how to eliminate the display of the file name at the bottom of the full screen display I would be very happy. There was a preference for this in VLC 1.1.2 but I cannot find it. I would appre...

what does pause in playlist do?

If one enters in a playlist: vlc://pause:20 The video will pause 20 seconds. My question is: Is blank video being sent to the display or is the video being shut off during the pause? The video projector used for the display can detect no video and goes into standby. It then requires 7 seconds to war...

Re: ProRes on VLC

Thank you for your patience. For me Full screen means a picture like you get in Quicktime playback using Quicktime player. Just like you get on your home TV set. I have the fullscreen preference checked. I do not get Fullscreen when The FS device is set to screen one or screen 2. Again VLC does this...

Re: ProRes on VLC

I looked over all my replies. I do not understand why and am saddened that you are so upset. I am just a Mac user with a need to solve a dilemma. Isn't what these forums are for? I guess its time to end this discussion. Thank you for your time.

Re: ProRes on VLC

I beg to disagree with you. If you can do it in V1 why not in V2? We are trying to use VLC to run a video projector for a Movie festival. Clearly one does not want the audience to view Apple windowing. We are a small non profit low budget outfit. Unfortunately many of the video makers use Apple ProR...

Re: ProRes on VLC

Let me get this straight. At this time VLC 2 cannot properly handle fullscreen on a 2nd monitor. Will it ever? At this time VLC 1 cannot handle ProRes files. There is no alternative to VLC. So if you need full screen on a secondary monitor with ProRes support-too bad you are out of luck. Quicktime 7...

I have not heard from anyone lately.Jean-Baptiste Kempf-you seem to know what is going on. Do you have any comments? Do you know any other players that might meet our needs?

Re: ProRes on VLC

What we want is full screen video with no Mac windows on the secondary monitor and the controls and playlist on the main monitor. What you get on the secondary monitor is a video window showing the red, yellow, and green buttons and the video controls at the bottom. All we want is the video! Fullscr...

Re: ProRes on VLC

Unfortunantly v2 does not properly support dual monitors. One of our monitors is digital projector so this is critical. Is there anything in V2 that can be used by V1?

ProRes on VLC

I am getting a lot of videos that use the ProRes codec. They play fine in Quicktime but not in VLC. Anyone know a way to play them in VLC?

My get info indicates version 2.0. Should it be 1.2? Anyway proper dual monitor support is critical for me.

VLC 2 and dual monitors

In previous versions before 2 one could get full screen video on Monitor 2 and the playlist and controller on monitor 1. I tried many preferences and could not do this with VLC 2. So how do I do this?

VLC and Lion

We want to use VLC as a player to a video projector using dual monitors-one being the projector. This works fine with VLC 1.1.12 with Snow Leopard. However we will have to purchase a new Mac laptop which will have Lion. Browsing this forum I found some instances of Lion problems. So I would like to ...

Internal scripting of VLC

Make the playlist have a scripting language. Example:

set to fullscreen
Set aspect ratio to 4:3
set volume to 3
play movie 1
set aspect ratio to 16:9
play movie 2

Playlist commands

I was introduced by Remi Denis-Courmont to the text command vlc://Pause:20 to create a pause between two videos in a playlist. There are probably other commands like this. Are they listed anywhere? For instance is there a command to change aspect ratio?
