I've given it a try, and as you've already warned, there is very limited experience (not being able to resize the window). I have to say, it's definitely a step in the right direction. I really look forward to seeing this feature mature. I don't mind not being able to change it on the fly, but being...
The Windows version is fantastic and has the very handy Ctrl+H, but the Mac version doesn't have any such function. Would it be possible to include it in a future release?
Is there any way to hide the interface in the OS X version like you can in the Windows version? If not, are there any plans to implement it in a future version?
I have to admit that this would be a great feature to have. I really don't know of many players that you have to restart to get the changes to take effect.
Tools > Preferences > Show Settings [All] > Playlist
Check both the "Repeat all" and "Play files randomly forever" boxes. Save it. When you close VLC and re-open it you'll find that your preferences have been saved.
Then why is it only triggered by VLC even though I've uninstalled and reinstalled my display drivers several times and doesn't happen with any other program? It's the exact same hardware I've always run VLC on and didn't have any problems. I didn't have any problems at all until I upgraded my OS fro...
I've tried several output modules with varying results. YUV: No video at all. Windows GDI video output: Strange "patchwork" lines in the video. Simple DirectMedia Layer video output: Separates the video window from the main player. Video Memory Output: No video at all. OpenGL video output:...
Alternatively (if you already have a playlist saved) you can go to the advanced playlist preferences and check "play files randomly forever" box, save it and close VLC. Now every time you open your playlist it'll play a random file first.
I've figured it out and I don't know if it's a bug or unfortunate limitation/feature. I've reset all my preferences and they returned. So then I started experimenting with what preference was conflicting with it and I've found that I apparently can't have the video on top of all windows while playin...
That happened to me with 1.1.9 when I first installed it on my freshly installed Windows 7 64bit and I couldn't figure it out since I hadn't messed with anything and it had worked just fine with my Windows 7 x86 OS. I decided to gamble with the nightlies though and I got very lucky with the 1.2 I tr...
I think this would be brilliant. I think it looks great in minimal interface mode, but not very nice in full interface. I really wouldn't even mind the lack of controls though if all the hotkeys would work in minimal. I tend to watch a lot of things while browsing and chatting online and I need a wi...
I use one of the 1.2 nightlies, but I don't remember them being in the 1.1.9 build for me, which is why it was a bit of a surprise to learn it's supposed to have them. I have a friend who uses the 1.1.9 build on his Windows 7 and he tells me he doesn't have the peek controls either.
As long as I've used VLC I've never known this to exist but a bit of research has shown otherwise. However, I don't seem to have them and if there's a way to enable them in Windows 7 then I haven't run across it yet. Am I missing something?
If the only thing you have to feel offended about is a Santa hat on an orange cone then I envy you. On the other hand, it's more likely that you look for reasons to be offended and clearly need a bit of perspective somewhere. I'm not religious but I absolutely love the Santa hat. It's a little festi...
I've never had this problem before as I've used VLC for years, but ever since I've gone to a 64bit version of Windows 7 it seems I'm getting random BSOD but only when I play 720p MKV files. Sometimes it'll play them for a while with no problem, but then sometimes I'll be playing the file for no more...
