It should be much better with recent snap versions, please try 3.0.3-1-3-gf09fd0d, stable channel snap.

The io-slave issue is fixed starting with 3.0.3-1-3-gf09fd0d, stable channel snap. It was a problem with Qt5/snap apparmor integration, fixed upstream.

Show the output of "snap run vlc -vv" please.

Localization issue is fixed starting 3.0.2 (in stable channel with 3.0.3-1-3-gf09fd0d), ditto for dvdcss.

It's enabled starting with 3.0.3, which will land today in stable channel.

Sorry, cant reproduce on both Linux/Chromium 66.0.3359.139 (no extensions whatsoever, clean install), and Windows 10 Chrome 66.0.3359.170 (also no extensions and clean install on a VM).

It's only available for beta testers now.

It takes a lot of time to get all the items from Twonky Media Server.

Unfortunately there is no easy way to fix that, this requires some major work on playlist model in VLC.
