Re: No audio suddenly: UPDATE

Problem solved. Audio restored. Turns out I needed to update/re-install drivers(not sure how they were un-installed). Soon after I lost audio I went into device manager thinking it might be a driver issue, and I updated the drivers automatically - no favorable result. Then just a bit ago I tried aga...

Re: No audio suddenly

Hey Strobo - appreciate the response. 1) No, nothing altered prior to audio loss. 2) Operating Vista 3) VIA High Definition Audio 4) All of the above 5) Vol is up, and not muted 6) Box does read "Default" 7) Drop down listed Microsoft Soundmapper(?) - I selected VIA High Def <Sigh> ...stil...

Re: No audio suddenly

Hey, thanks for the reply - I was able to make the associations following your instructions, but still no audio. I checked the internal vol on the VLC to see if it was muted but it's not, so....back to square one.

Re: No audio suddenly

Yeah I made sure the master vol isn't muted, and I do get sound from other sources, like youtube and on start up - and i checked that the audio card is working, I just don't get sound from VLC. Conversely, my Windows Media player only plays audio, but no video. Also, thanks for the instructions on f...

No audio suddenly

VLC player suddenly wont play audio. I tried uninstall, re-install but no luck. I'm not very computer literate, so if someone can walk me through it, i'd really appreciate it. I've been tooling around but haven't been able to solve the problem. Also, all my video and audio files have converted back ...

Re: level volume for all files?

Well, I still haven't been able to resolve this problem. I'm still hoping that there's a way to adjust the level on the VLC player so that all files play at the same volume. The replaygain has two options, track and album, and I don't know exactly what they refer to, but I selected each and nothing ...

Re: level volume for all files?

Thanks, I will. Once I have the update, how do I handle the replaygain mentioned above to set level volume - or is it self explanatory?

Re: level volume for all files?

I don't see replaygain in audio preferences. Could you elaborate? The 'enable audio' box is checked, and the default vol is set to 100%. Otherwise there is nothing else that indicates what I want to do.
Thanks

level volume for all files?

I'm not very tech oriented, but I'd like to know if there is a way to keep the same volume level for all files in the playlist during playback in the VLC player. Often, I find that if I adjust the volume for one file, the next one might playback at either a much higher, or lower volume. I'd like to ...
