Re: Can't upgrade to latest version

I didn't see the admin rights option, so I hope I'm not missing out on anything, but it looks like it installed just fine.
-Thank you!

Re: VLC and subtitles

-very cool. Thanks. Any thoughts on the "slipping" issue? I understand that some subtitles need to be initially synced up and then they are fine, and it may be that the subtitle file is somehow not compatible with the video file, or it is just corrupted and I need to try a different .srt f...

VLC and subtitles

I am an avid English subtitle user and was wondering: Sometimes I will go to open the subtitle I have downloaded and there is one already loaded. I'm not sure if it is because the show already had a subtitle embedded, or if VLC is able to selectively find and load a subtitle I have downloaded, which...

Can't upgrade to latest version

I currently have 2.0.3 and I'm periodically asked to download the latest version, but any time I try, just as the download finishes VLC crashes, and I get a 'can't connect to ftp server' error when I go to report it.
Do I need to uninstall and download from scratch?

vlc media player 2 0 1 twoflower interface

Just installed this version (Win XP), and was just wondering... WHAT HAPPENED TO THE VIDEO SPEED ARROWS???
They weren't hurting anything and I used them like ALL THE TIME? !
Do I have to reinstall the previous version I just had or am I missing some fix here?
Thanks

Re: Why VLC can't render Subtitles well ?

Now that I've found an easy website to get subtitles, it is sad that I can rarely get them to work on VLC. I also have NVidia, but I searched this issue and found one user's answer was to get the KMPlayer, which I have done, and it seems to display them easy enough -still working out some sync probl...

Re: Slo-mo not working good, plus...

Tool called Mediainfo will reveal the facts. MKV subtitle can be created in such way that there isn't default subtitle track. If file is like that, you have to use VLC subtitle track options to make it play automatically. Mediainfo revealed facts that I don't know how to use, like linking to audio/...

Re: Slo-mo not working good, plus...

What format is the input file and what kind of subtitles it contains?
VLC media file (.mkv) 720p.HDTV.x264-CTU
not sure how to determine what kind of subtitles it contains- is there a certain type of file that I should be looking for that definitely "contains" subtitles?

Re: Slo-mo not working good, plus...

OK, now I've got VLC 1.1.9 installed. It updated my fonts, and now I am able to select a font, but how do I get subtitles to work -when they are available and should be visible?

Slo-mo not working good, plus...

When I first discovered it, the slo-mo worked great. Now after about a month, the audio/video go out of sync and it just doesn't work the same. Also, I would love to know if the 'image adjust' can be locked in for all viewing? and also how to get subtitles to work -'browse for fonts' ( I select a fo...
