Re: 2.2.4 audio distortion

I've mostly given up on this - since it seems to be nearly all avi files I'm just using MPV instead.

2.2.4 audio distortion

I've been noticing a lot of audio distortion in certain files recently. The audio is choppy, almost like a retrigger effect. Based on my testing it seems to be avi files, although I haven't tested more than about 10 files. I downloaded MPV and that plays the same files without any audio issues, so I...

Re: VLC won't play .mkv files anymore

I have been having this problem recently too. It seems that about 50% of files cause this issue. I don't see any vlc folder in library/preferences to delete. I also don't see FFMpeg under demuxer options. Is there anything else that might fix this? Also, should vlc just hang when opening these files...

Audio delay when resuming playback

Hi, I'm currently using VLC 2.2.0, and I've noticed that when I resume playback of any video file (doesn't matter on the format), the video plays for a few seconds before the audio resumes. The audio is still in sync, but there is missed audio every time I resume playback, which is annoying. Is this...

some .ogm files don't have video

I have a bunch of .ogm files that I'm sure used to work, but now come up with audio but no video. If I look at the media information, there is no video codec being used. It doesn't affect all .ogm files I have, just some of them (so I know ogm files will play on my machine). The video track is not d...

Playlist items are not highlighted when scrolling down

I've noticed that in VLC 2.0.5 (on OSX 10.6.8 ) when I scroll down my playlist, any items after the first screen aren't highlighted. This is annoying because if I want to remove items from my playlist, I have no idea which ones are selected. Is this a bug? https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-u5nKlnMB...

partial transcode from command line

Is it possible to do a partial transcode of audio from the command line? I almost have full transcode working, but the files are huge and a pain to work with. I'd much rather do a partial transcode of the part of the file I want, if that's possible.

Re: VLC tries to build font cache every time it runs

I get this as well whenever I open VLC cleanly (on OS X 10.5), however when VLC crashes and reopens, it doesn't happen.

Closing VLC truncates transcoded audio file

I'm trying to transcode some audio from avi files into wav, and having trouble doing it. The transcode works fine and I get the wav file, which plays. But when I close VLC, it deletes the wav file (actually sets the size to 0 bytes) and it no longer plays. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? P...

Re: Cannot run VLC 2.01 from command line

I installed manually with the 32 bit version and it fixed the problem. So the issue is definitely with the updater, as I did not install this manually the first time. My OS is OS X 10.5 if that makes a difference.

Re: Cannot run VLC 2.01 from command line

I think the issue may be that VLC automatically downloaded the 64 bit version and I am on 32 bit intel mac. Is that what this means? Code Type: X86-64 (Native). If so, that would be a bug in the updater.

Cannot run VLC 2.01 from command line

When I try to run vlc from the command line I get a 'segmentation fault' and it immediately crashes. The command line I'm using is /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC. Here's the crash report. Process: VLC [25927] Path: /Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC Identifier: VLC Version: ??? (???)...

crash reports won't send in VLC 2.01

Since I upgraded to VLC 2.01, it's been crashing multiple times per day. I do try to send the crash reports but it never sends, it always says that there's a network error. My network connection is fine, what could be causing this problem?

Re: VLC 1.1.12 cause OS X graphics issues at end of file

Hm. I've never had this problem with any previous version of VLC though. Actually I was able to determine that for at least one of the files, repairing the index doesn't work, it causes parts of the file to play out of order. It plays fine in other media players. So I don't think that the file itsel...

Re: VLC 1.1.12 cause OS X graphics issues at end of file

I got the same issue again today (after deleting the preference files). I think it may be related to video files that need repair of the avi index. In this case as the file was a full-length movie I clicked 'do not repair' when prompted and didn't have any issues until close to the end when I had th...

VLC 1.1.12 cause OS X graphics issues at end of file

this happened to me last night playing a video file, and I thought it might be an issue with the file, but it just happened again with a different file. When the end of the video file is reached, instead of closing it the video jumps to a random size, then I get artifacts all over the screen. Last n...

I just tested this and the behaviour is the same if the folders don't have any spaces but the filename itself does. Just thought I should add that in case the fix wasn't the same. Thanks in advance for fixing this!

Re: Playlist no longer highlights current file

I'm on OS X 10.5.8 with VLC 1.1.9 32 bit - tried removing the preferences files on all my Macs and this still behaves the same way. I don't think this is related to preferences at all, I think it's a bug, I just wanted to check here first before reporting it as such.
