Re: audio skips / stutters through bluetooth

#3. BL has the same 2.4Ghz frequency of Wi-Fi... but a different encoding... but signals can overlap, collide, cause interferences... avoid Wi-Fi + BL Quite possibly this! I didn't think of this, but I did have a set of bluetooth speakers once that, anytime I used them, the wifi signal would go cra...

audio skips / stutters through bluetooth

I don't know of this is a linux issue or a VLC issue, but since nobody on the Ubuntu forums or reddit will answer me, I figured I'd try here. What I've got going on is I run VLC v3.0.8 under Ubuntu 18.04 LTS. When I watch videos, I speed them up 2x so I can concentrate on them. I've done that for so...

Re: Any Way to Fix 30-60 sec Delayed Start For Networked Videos?

Don't know if this will bump this thread or not, but I have found that VLC plays just fine until I move a video file from one network location to another. Once I do that, until I reboot the system, VLC will take up to two minutes to begin playing the video. It acts like it is caching the entire file...

Re: Any Way to Fix 30-60 sec Delayed Start For Networked Videos?

Well, let's see... My main desktop computer which hosts the video files, is running Ubuntu 16.04LTS. That is hardwired to a router. That router is then hardwired to another router about 100-150 feet away operating as an access point. To that access point, I wirelessly connect the laptop in question ...

Any Way to Fix 30-60 sec Delayed Start For Networked Videos?

I have my videos stored on a main desktop computer running over a network connection. When I play videos stored on my laptop locally, everything is fine. When I try to play a video stored on the network connected desktop, however, VLC loads and sits there for anywhere from 30-60 seconds or so before...

Re: streaming webcam from Ubuntu w/o X

well, I know it does support v4l1 because I can access it when I connect it to my laptop. As for it being in use, I can't image how. I can't think of any program that should be using it. All this computer is is a command-line environment web server.

streaming webcam from Ubuntu w/o X

I am trying to stream a webcam over a local network through a computer that is currently acting as a webserver which therefore has no X GUI. Through a lot of experimentation and trial-and-error, I have gotten the following command to work on my laptop: vlc v4l2:///dev/video0 --sout "#transcode{...
