Re: How to autocrop for full screen zoom ?

Advanced -> video
I found it :) To complete the thread for future searches, here's how to enforce 5:4 video cropping.

Tools -> Preferences -> Switch to "All" (from "Simple") -> Video -> Video cropping -> Enter 5:4 in the box :D

Re: How to autocrop for full screen zoom ?

You can do that somewhere deep in the preferences.
That's why I'm here, because I can't find it deep in the preferences :roll: :lol:

Re: How to autocrop for full screen zoom ?

Press C to change crop.
Yeah, I found that in the video menu also. I want to set 5:4 as the default crop though, so I don't have to press C (about 10 times) each time I start a video. I know it was possible in an earlier version of VLC, and probably still is now, but I don't know where to find it.

How to autocrop for full screen zoom ?

I watch video via VLC 2.0.4 on my second monitor which is a 1280x1024 (5:4) resolution (ratio). Below is a screenshot of how a 16:9 widescreen show looks. Knowing that programmes will not usually frame their shots such that anything important strays into the extreme left/right of the screen (because...

Re: Add-to-vlc-playlist not on explorer right-click

Some observations of recent activity. When I had .avi files set to be opened by Windows Media Player, the "play with VLC" and "add to VLC playlist" were both options on the explorer right-click menu. But when I right-clicked the avi and chose "open with" and selected VL...

Re: Add-to-vlc-playlist not on explorer right-click

During install, I left everything selected (all video files) and only unselected 3 audio formats (.mp3, .wma and .wav). Those context menu items that you are missing come from http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/attachment/ticket/3567/VLC_110pre2_Error_03b.jpg that selection. And it seems someone else has...

Re: Add-to-vlc-playlist not on explorer right-click

Interface settings don't have an effect to registry (VLC settings are stored to %appdata%\vlc folder). Is the registry location HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.avi\shell\AddToPlaylistVLC ? I've attached screenshots of the things you mentioned. I also installed 1.1.9 and selected "delete preferences and set...

Add-to-vlc-playlist not on explorer right-click

I used to have the add to vlc playlist on my right-click menu in explorer but now it's gone. Not sure why it's gone. The key is still in the right place in the registry (as far as I can tell) and it's not disabled (with a "legacy key"). Here's a screenshot I took where I've got overlapping...
