I found that converting a video file to an .flv file through a program called AVS4YOU enables the VLC player to properly function in the frame-by-frame mode. Thanks.

With some, but not all, of my videos, where there is motion, the edges of the object in motion have jaggedy edges. I tried all kinds of settings, but nothing so far works. Any help? Thanks!
