Tried the shortcut idea you suggested and when I chose the shortcut as the default, it just made VLC the default (since I was choosing the shortcut TO VLC).

Time for VLC to update!

Obviously I have done all of this since I stated in my post that I CAN adjust my EQ and video settings but I have to do it each and every time I reopen VLC. I am looking for a way, if it's even possible, that VLC can remember my EQ settings so I don't have to keep doing it every time VLC reopens. Ge...

If you open up Preferences>Interface, everything you can do when using the native settings you can NOT do when using a skinable interface. Why?

There is no where in Preferences where I can adjust the EQ settings. I have to click on the EQ icon to bring up the EQ and Video settings and I have to do this each time VLC opens. Is there any way I can make VLC remember I like Full Treble and Full Bass as my EQ setting along with my video settings...

So does that mean NO.....you don't know how to change the icon???? File associations, executable, doesn't matter. Big, ugly orange cone only belongs on the street and NOT on my monitor.

I desperately need to change that ugly orange street cone but am having trouble. Does anyone know how to properly change the cone icon in Win7 64 bit?

VLC works mostly the way I want it when I use the native settings and the stock VLC skin. When I switch to a skin I found, none of the cool settings that are default with the native skin don't keep with my new skin.

Is there any way to keep my audio and video settings?? Every time VLC starts up I gotta redo the EQ settings and the picture settings.
