Re: RTSP fails with Realmedia Agent

OK this is weird. Did more testing. Disconnected from the wired network and tethered to an iPhone. Now the computer can get the stream and a Wireshark capture shows the OPTIONS request using user-agent Live555. Other computers on the same wired network have no problem. Tried a wireless network that ...

RTSP fails with Realmedia Agent

I have run into an unusual problem. We have some streams delivered with a Wowza server. The server RTSP connection is on port 80 instead of the usual port 554. All of the computers using VLC to access the streams work fine. Except for one that immediately errors out. The only clue is a Wireshark tra...

TCP Connection timeout in plugin

I have a streaming server constraint where it takes about 12 sec for the VLC plugin to receive a response to the RTSP DESCRIBE. This is fine in the VLC Player because I can set the TCP connection timeout to about 20 secs. However when trying to use the VLC plugin from a browser I cannot set this par...

Re: VLC tries too hard...

Can delete history by clearing preferences. Not the best way, but at least a way. The inability to change case in the network string is a bug.

VLC tries too hard...

...to remember your history. I found that if I made a case error when typing in a string such as ... rtsp://192.168.1.10/Stream1 when I meant to make it a lower case "stream1", I cannot correct it. VLC continues to remember the first entry and ignores the case change in the string. How can...

It appears that the pre 2.xx VLC that do work also print the same seq of messages but stops after awhile with the message .... "no usable vout present, spawning one" Then the sequence of messages looks like... <snip a lot>... avcodec warning: cannot decode one frame (3064 bytes) main debug...

Re: Why break RTSP?

Whoops sorry, this message occurred when I had RTP over RTSP enabled and I am working on a bug that popped up with that feature. For some reason the newer versions of VLC stopped decoding our MPEG-4. The debug messages show it receiving data but not decoding frames.... main debug: processing request...

Why break RTSP?

RTSP with MPEG-4 used to work great with our encoder streams, but now it fails with the debug message...

"only real/helix rtsp servers supported for now"

Why break it intentionally?

Re: TwoFlower will not play streaming MPEG-4

I will give that a try. I need to investigate more. On a different version of our streaming encoder it works. I am now suspecting that it has something to do with the SDP data. Will report back when I know more.

Re: TwoFlower will not play streaming MPEG-4

I can't share a URL because this is multicasting from a hardware streaming MPEG-4 encoder. Here is a list of the messages when the stream is started. Never had a problem with any previous version. main debug: adding item `rtsp://192.168.5.132' (URL deleted ) qt4 debug: Adding a new MRL to recent one...

TwoFlower will not play streaming MPEG-4

We have been using VLC to play streaming MPEG-4 for years. With the release of 2.0.1 it no longer can decode the frames as indicated in the messages.

The MPEG-4 is in an RTP packet. Neither RTSP or SAP, which are both supported will work.

Re: web plugin has some bug in ie.

Can you post the HTML that you use to run the WebPlugin in IE? I haven't been able to get it to work in IE. Firefox and Chrome are fine.

I'm using the lastest 1.1.10 as well.

Set RTSP/RTP demux cache from web?

I need to set the RTSP/RTP demux cache to a low value to reduce latency from HTTP. I don't see anything in the plugin api that would allow this. Anyone know if this can be done? Also I've tried using the sample code to register events. Any script after a registerVLCEvent call won't run. It doesn't e...

Re: WebPlugin works with Firefox but not IE

Hi ArnoBor, That cab file is from an old version. I noticed that the new versions don't have a cab file anymore. When I look at the registry it seems that the axvlc.dll is the same pluging for ActiveX and Mozilla, just accessed differently. Where ActiveX uses the ClasssID and Mozilla uses the plugin...

WebPlugin works with Firefox but not IE

I'm able to get the web plugin to work fine with Firefox but no luck with IE. I'm streaming H264 with RTSP/RTP. Seems like IE responds to <object classid=clsid.... statement, whereas Firefox responds to the <embed type="application/x-vlc-plugin... statement. Anyone had any luck getting IE to us...

Perhaps it has to do with alignment of TS packets in the UDP packet. I believe there is a change in the behavior of non-aligned packets between the two versions.

I have the same problem with installing on my RH9. Seems like you need glibc-2.3.4 but glibc-2.3.2 is installed.
