Thanks.... I'm using a Mac and the latest VLC.. How do I post an image of the list of Codecs that I get? .....No H.265

I read elsewhere that VLC will encode H.265. When I pull down the menu to select the Codec I do not see H.265 as an option. Does VLC encode to H.265?

I’ve made changes via the Video Effects window and I’d like to save the enhanced version of the file. I did a search on this forum and I’ve looked at the documentation and I’m not seeing what I’m looking for. I’d like to play fixed the file through other applicatons and players with the fixes. Thanks.

Should I look forward to a fix or does a system call mean I should downgrade vlc?

I'm using Mac 10.6.8 and after I upgraded to vlc 2.1.0 I am crashing while playing .mp4 files. Sometimes the file will not load and vlc crashes. Other times the movie may load but as soon as I click later in the movie in the timeline vlc quits.

Any thoughts?

I realize this doesn't seem to be a big deal, but it brings the overall stability of the program into question.
It makes it look like something is "stuck", as if there might be resources that aren't being released, or any number of other things.
It's still happening in 1.1.8
