Dudes, write those settings when they are changed, not on the off chance that you make it through a whole night's playing dodgy downloads and the user presses 'X'...

Thankyou for the tip. Having just woken up the wife AGAIN because the volume control moved itself off the bottom of the screen, I would maintain this is a bug and that this setting should be enabled by defualt. Having said that it will turn out to be like all the other settings and wont actually sav...

Window size/position (Win 7)

I'm not sure about other platforms but on Win 7 VLC, like almost all other media players, sets a 1:1 zoom on playing any new file. I can't seem to find any setting to prevent this, but that's kind of beside the point... :) I don't know if this is a video industry standard thing or what, but a recent...

This appears to be fixed in the latest version. Now I can be checking out 'Seven of Nine' instead of reading those distracting subtitles!

Subtitles will not stay off

I recently came across some H264 files with embedded subtitles.

VLC will not be told to leave these off. It doesn't remember between files and doesn't remember for files I've already played.

Can we have a default subtitles setting that includes 'Disabled' please?
