Re: How does VLC Player know how long it's streaming?

Ok here's the verbose level 2 verbose logs. One is from when the live audio streaming is started. The other is from when it's stopped. I put the log text files into a zip file and uploaded to mediafire. Here's the link to download it. http://www.mediafire.com/?atdq2zaa4svfqed At this point maybe the...

Re: How does VLC Player know how long it's streaming?

But it seems to be more than that. It seems that it not only remember's the the last time code it was at from streaming, but actually can figure out how long the program was NOT running, after I close the program, then restart the program, then restart the stream. Because when I leave the program of...

How does VLC Player know how long it's streaming?

Ok I go ctrl+s to stream and select directshow for source then stream the audio from my computer. Now the problem is what happens next. It remembers how long the stream has been going, but then when I shut down VLC player, and after a couple minutes start VLC back up again and start streaming again,...

Where is VLC's temporary folder?

Ok I'm streaming live audio using VLC as the server, but after I close down VLC player, and then run it again and restart the stream transmitting it seems to "remember" how long it had been transmitting during the last streaming session. Also if I wait around for a few minutes and check my...

Re: VLC keeps spawning new Direct3D output windows

That extra windows bug still needs fixing. As I said above: You know how you can use the audio menu to select what track you want and only one plays at a time (and the same for subtitles)? Well I believe that there should only be one video track playing at a time (selectable from the video menu, jus...

Re: ZMBV support

What exactly is the ZMBV (Zero Motion Block Video) codec? I know dosbox uses it for screen recording, but why not one of the more common codecs in existence? What (technically speaking) does ZMBV do that makes it so good for recording dos game footage?

Re: VLC keeps spawning new Direct3D output windows

How do I change this setting so instead of playing them all at once, I can manually select which track I want to play from the "video" menu?

How do I use the VLM "broadcast" mode in Windows?

I am trying to use it via the built in GUI for the VLM, but it won't work. I set it up but I get no stream coming out. I check the ports with CurrPorts (which should show VLC listening as a server on the desired port) but it isn't. Why isn't the Windows GUI working with the VLM? There's specifically...

Re: Batch convert + keep file name

How do I batch convert using the GUI of VLC Player? I've got some VOC files extracted from the Duke Nukem 3D game, and want to convert to WAV. So I've decided to use VLC which does handle these files. But I can't get it to batch convert them. I've added them all to my list of files to convert, but V...

VLC should support output of RTMP

Currently supports outputting only RTSP, but the webpage embedable flash player JW Player (player.swf) supports only one stream format, RTMP. Please include an RTMP output mode for VoD playing. I'm interested in using VoD on my website in conjunction with JW Player embeded on several of my pages for...

What does VLC telnet expect to be sent for the "enter key"?

I need to know if I should configure Windows HyperTerminal to send a CR only for hitting the enter key, or sent both a CR and LF. Please help me, as this might help me figure out why my telnet isn't working with VLC when using HyperTerminal.

Re: want to set up Video on Demand

I am also interested in using VoD but when I go and use the menu (NOT THE COMMAND LINE as I'm NOT INTERESTED in command line solutions) to set up VoD and all seems to be going fine (I set up RTSP port 5544 name "test") on the server instance of VLC. Then using a second instance of VLC play...

Why do I get a second window when playing MKV

I a MKV video with MKVtoolnix featuring 2 separate video streams. The intent was to play it and be able to select one or the other stream to play at a time using VLC's video stream selection menu. But it didn't work. Instead, I have stream 1 playing in the main window, and a popup window that plays ...
