Set DirectX and specific sound card in command?

This is what I've tried; why does this not work?

cd\program files\videolan\vlc\
vlc -vvv verbose="2" --aout="directx" --directx-audio-device-name="Line 1 (Virtual Audio Cable)"

Hey, I'd still love some developer help on my .bat issue, but for anyone else with a similar problem, I found a workaround. I found this program called AutoIt, that's basically a very simple scripting program. I made a very crude script so I have a player-piano of sorts that clicks everything I need...
