No effort required?!

No effort required! DirectX just doesn't work well for SPDIF. As a programmer I feel sad about your lack of commitment to this issue. If the "Standard" option doesn't work with SPIDF then why have it in the audiomenu? Perhaps it would be better to automatically switch to "waveout&quo...

Finally got it working....

I finally got it working. I found this post: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/vlc-no-spdif-output-t326561.html It gave these instructions: Go to [Preferences] and check [Advanced Options] Then Expand [Audio] and select [Output modules] Change [Audio output module] to [Win32 waveOut extension o...

Digital/AC3 output studders, but decoded stereo is working f

VLC 0.8.5 test-2 video device bug.

I just found a bug in VLC 0.8.5, If launching VLC from the terminal selecting the fullscreen videodevice with: $ ./VLC whatever.avi --macosx-vdev 2 -f VLC will still use screen 1, or default for fullscreen playback. The GUI is however updated by the --macosx-vdev 2 command, so you have to switch fro...

Subtitle BUG found (*FIX Request*)

Hi all you who has had a hard time getting subtitles to work. I might have the solution here.... To play subfiles with your movies in VLC on your mac you need to do 2 things, 1. Set the character-SET to ISO-8859-1 (Latin 1) unless you are sure the subtitle is really UTF-8 which us rarely the case. I...
